PEFC is an international non profit, non governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management through independent third party certification. PEFC Labels helps customers identify products from sustainably managed forests.
PEFC is the world’s largest certification system with more than 740 million acres of forest area being managed in compliance with PEFC’s internationally accepted Sustainability Benchmarks. Two Thirds of all certified forests globally are certified to PEFC.
The PEFC’s Chain of Custody (CoC) certification is one of the most comprehensive and rigorous methods available for tracking wood products from forest to final production. It involves a third-party assessment to ensure compliance with PEFC’s unique Sustainability Benchmarks (which are consistent with international requirements) and requires that every aspect of the production chain be traceable back to a sustainably managed forest.
At BGPPL ( Unit Bhigwan ), all of our fibre suppliers are proudly Chain of Custody (CoC ) certified by the PEFC. Also at Unit Ballarpur, all the wood being sourced are from PEFC Controlled wood sources.
